Ningbo Dazhong Industrial Chemical Fiber Co., LTD. Polypropylene Puqiang Filament: The basic and practical category of polypropylene fiber!
Polypropylene general-strength filament is a basic category of polypropylene fibers. It is made from polypropylene as raw material through conventional melt spinning and moderate stretching processes. Although its breaking strength is lower than that of polypropylene high-strength filament, it can meet the usage requirements of most daily and basic industrial scenarios. At the same time, it retains the core advantages of polypropylene, such as light density and good economy. It is a basic product with large output and wide application range among polypropylene fibers Provide cost-effective fiber options for the textile and industrial fields.
From the perspective of production technology, the manufacturing process of polypropylene common strength filament emphasizes stability and economy. Firstly, polypropylene chips with a conventional melt index are selected. After drying treatment (to remove moisture to prevent bubble formation during spinning), they are sent into an extruder to melt at 230-270℃. By controlling the screw temperature and speed, the uniform flow of the melt is ensured. Subsequently, the melt is precisely regulated by a metering pump in terms of flow rate and conveyed to the standard spinning assembly, where it is extruded into filaments by the spinneret (the number and diameter of micro-holes depend on the product specifications). After the filament is extruded, it is cooled and solidified by side blowing air. Then, it is moderately stretched by 2 to 4 times to form a certain orientation of the macromolecular chains inside the fibers, initially enhancing the strength. Finally, it undergoes low-temperature setting (with a temperature of approximately 80-120℃) to eliminate internal stress, and then is wound and slitted to form finished wires. Compared with polypropylene high-strength filament, it has a lower stretching ratio and less difficulty in process control, making it more suitable for large-scale and low-cost production.
In terms of core performance, the advantages of polypropylene common strength filament lie in "basic practicality" and "cost balance". Firstly, it has a low density (approximately 0.91g/cm³), and the finished products are lightweight, making them easy to process and use, especially suitable for scenarios where weight is a concern. Secondly, it has extremely low hygroscopicity (with a moisture regain rate of only about 0.03%), is not prone to mold in a humid environment, and dries quickly, so there is no need to worry about performance degradation caused by moisture absorption. Thirdly, it has good chemical stability and certain tolerance to common weak acids, weak bases and detergents, and is not easily corroded during daily use. Fourth, it has strong processing adaptability. It can be blended with other fibers or made into various forms of fabrics through weaving, knitting and other processes. Moreover, its dyeing property can be optimized through raw material modification to meet the basic color requirements. Meanwhile, although its breaking strength is at the "ordinary strength" level, it is sufficient to meet the basic requirements such as daily stretching and load-bearing, with outstanding cost performance.
In terms of application scenarios, polypropylene common strength filament covers a wide range of basic demands. In the field of daily textiles, it can be used to make knitted underwear, sports socks, casual fabrics, etc., taking advantage of its light and dry properties to enhance wearing comfort. In the home textile field, it is applicable to home textile decorative fabrics, sofa covers, curtain fabrics, etc. Relying on its wear-resistant and easy-to-clean features, it reduces daily maintenance costs. In the field of industrial basic applications, common packaging fabrics, shopping bags, agricultural covering fabrics, etc. can be produced, which meet the usage requirements with their economic efficiency and basic strength. In the field of filling, it can also be processed into short fibers for toy filling, cushion filling, etc., taking advantage of its fluffiness and lightness to enhance the user experience of the products.
With the upgrading of market demands for the cost-effectiveness and functional diversity of basic materials, polypropylene common strength filament is also continuously being optimized. By fine-adjusting the spinning process to enhance the stability of breaking strength, developing fine denier common strength filament varieties to improve the touch feel, or introducing recycled polypropylene raw materials to enhance environmental protection attributes, it can better meet the demands of modern consumption and basic industries while maintaining a low-cost advantage, providing a fundamental support for the balanced development of the polypropylene fiber industry.
